24 Because I called and you refused, I stretched out my hand and no one paid attention; Because I have called and you refused to listen, have stretched out my hand and no one has heeded, But since you refuse to listen when I call and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand,
25 And you neglected all my counsel And were not willing to accept my reproof; because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof, since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke,
26 I will also laugh at your disaster; I will mock when your dread comes, I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when terror strikes you, I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you; I will mock when calamity overtakes you—
27 When your dread comes like a storm And your disaster comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you. when terror strikes you like a storm and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. when calamity overtakes you like a storm, when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind, when distress and trouble overwhelm you.
