27 καὶ εὐθὺς ἀποστείλας ὁ βασιλεὺς σπεκουλάτορα ἐπέταξεν ἐνέγκαι τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπελθὼν ἀπεκεφάλισεν αὐτὸν ἐν τῇ φυλακῇ And immediately the king sent an executioner with orders to bring John’s head. He went and beheaded him in the prison So he immediately sent an executioner with orders to bring John’s head. The man went, beheaded John in the prison,
28 καὶ ἤνεγκεν τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πίνακι καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτὴν τῷ κορασίῳ καὶ τὸ κοράσιον ἔδωκεν αὐτὴν τῇ μητρὶ αὐτῆς and brought his head on a platter and gave it to the girl, and the girl gave it to her mother. and brought back his head on a platter. He presented it to the girl, and she gave it to her mother.
