He taught them many things in parables, and in his teaching he said to them, And he was teaching them many things in parables, and in his teaching he said to them: He taught them many things by parables, and in his teaching said:
“Listen! Consider the sower who went out to sow. “Listen! Behold, a sower went out to sow. “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed.
As he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it. And as he sowed, some seed fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
Other seed fell on rocky ground where it didn’t have much soil, and it grew up quickly, since the soil wasn’t deep. Other seed fell on rocky ground, where it did not have much soil, and immediately it sprang up, since it had no depth of soil. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.
When the sun came up, it was scorched, and since it had no root, it withered away. And when the sun rose, it was scorched, and since it had no root, it withered away. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.
Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns came up and choked it, and it didn’t produce fruit. Other seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no grain. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain.
Still other seed fell on good ground and it grew up, producing fruit that increased thirty, sixty, and a hundred times.” And other seeds fell into good soil and produced grain, growing up and increasing and yielding thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a hundredfold.” Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”
Then he said, “Let anyone who has ears to hear listen.” And he said, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”
