And the Pharisees, having come near, questioned Him if it is lawful for a husband to put away a wife, tempting Him, And Pharisees came up and in order to test him asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?” Some Pharisees came and tested him by asking, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife?”
and He answering said to them, “What did Moses command you?” He answered them, “What did Moses command you?” “What did Moses command you?” he replied.
And they said, “Moses permitted to write a bill of divorce, and to put away.” They said, “Moses allowed a man to write a certificate of divorce and to send her away.” They said, “Moses permitted a man to write a certificate of divorce and send her away.”
And Jesus answering said to them, “For the stiffness of your heart he wrote you this command, And Jesus said to them, “Because of your hardness of heart he wrote you this commandment. “It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law,” Jesus replied.
but from the beginning of the creation God made them a male and a female; But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ “But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’
on this account will a man leave his father and mother, and will cleave to his wife, ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife,
and they will be—the two—for one flesh, so that they are no longer two, but one flesh; and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one flesh.
what God therefore joined together, do not let man separate.” What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
