12 But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name’s sake. But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake. “But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name.
13 It will turn out as a testimony for you. This will be your opportunity to bear witness. And so you will bear testimony to me.
14 Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer, Settle it therefore in your minds not to meditate beforehand how to answer, But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves.
15 for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict. for I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which none of your adversaries will be able to withstand or contradict. For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict.
16 You will be handed over even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends. They will cause some of you to be put to death. You will be delivered up even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and some of you they will put to death. You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death.
17 You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake. You will be hated by all for my name’s sake. Everyone will hate you because of me.
18 And not a hair of your head will perish. But not a hair of your head will perish. But not a hair of your head will perish.
19 “By your endurance you will win your lives. By your endurance you will gain your lives. Stand firm, and you will win life.
