2	“Tell the Israelites, ‘Any Israelite or foreigner living in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech must be put to death. The people of the land are to stone him.	“Say to the people of Israel, Any one of the people of Israel or of the strangers who sojourn in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech shall surely be put to death. The people of the land shall stone him with stones.	Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever <i>he be</i> of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth <i>any</i> of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.	“You shall also say to the sons of Israel: ‘Anyone from the sons of Israel or from the strangers residing in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech, shall certainly be put to death; the people of the land shall stone him with stones.	“Say to the Israelites: ‘Any Israelite or any foreigner residing in Israel who sacrifices any of his children to Molek is to be put to death. The members of the community are to stone him.
3	And I will set My face against that man and cut him off from his people, because by giving his offspring to Molech, he has defiled My sanctuary and profaned My holy name.	I myself will set my face against that man and will cut him off from among his people, because he has given one of his children to Molech, to make my sanctuary unclean and to profane my holy name.	And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.	I will also set My face against that man and will cut him off from among his people, because he has given some of his children to Molech, so as to defile My sanctuary and to profane My holy name.	I myself will set my face against him and will cut him off from his people; for by sacrificing his children to Molek, he has defiled my sanctuary and profaned my holy name.
4	And if the people of the land ever hide their eyes and fail to put to death the man who gives one of his children to Molech,	And if the people of the land do at all close their eyes to that man when he gives one of his children to Molech, and do not put him to death,	And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:	If the people of the land, however, should ever disregard that man when he gives any of his children to Molech, so as not to put him to death,	If the members of the community close their eyes when that man sacrifices one of his children to Molek and if they fail to put him to death,
5	then I will set My face against that man and his family and cut off from among their people both him and all who follow him in prostituting themselves with Molech.	then I will set my face against that man and against his clan and will cut them off from among their people, him and all who follow him in whoring after Molech.	Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people.	then I Myself will set My face against that man and against his family, and I will cut off from among their people both him and all those who play the prostitute with him, by playing the prostitute with Molech.	I myself will set my face against him and his family and will cut them off from their people together with all who follow him in prostituting themselves to Molek.
6	Whoever turns to mediums or spiritists to prostitute himself with them, I will also set My face against that person and cut him off from his people.	“If a person turns to mediums and necromancers, whoring after them, I will set my face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.	And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.	‘As for the person who turns to mediums and to spiritists, to play the prostitute with them, I will also set My face against that person and will cut him off from among his people.	“’I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people.
7	Consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy, because I am the LORD your God.	Consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy, for I am the LORD your God.	Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I <i>am</i> the LORD your God.	You shall consecrate yourselves therefore and be holy, for I am the LORD your God.	“’Consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am the LORD your God.
8	And you shall keep My statutes and practice them. I am the LORD who sanctifies you.	Keep my statutes and do them; I am the LORD who sanctifies you.	And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I <i>am</i> the LORD which sanctify you.	So you shall keep My statutes and practice them; I am the LORD who sanctifies you.	Keep my decrees and follow them. I am the LORD, who makes you holy.
9	If anyone curses his father or mother, he must be put to death. He has cursed his father or mother; his blood shall be upon him.	For anyone who curses his father or his mother shall surely be put to death; he has cursed his father or his mother; his blood is upon him.	For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood <i>shall be</i> upon him.	‘If <i>there is</i> anyone who curses his father or his mother, he shall certainly be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother, <i>and has brought</i> his own death upon himself.	“’Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head.
10	If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife— with the wife of his neighbor— both the adulterer and the adulteress must surely be put to death.	“If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.	And the man that committeth adultery with <i>another</i> man's wife, <i>even he</i> that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.	‘If <i>there is</i> a man who commits adultery with another man’s wife, one who commits adultery with his friend’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress must be put to death.	“’If a man commits adultery with another man’s wife—with the wife of his neighbor—both the adulterer and the adulteress are to be put to death.
11	If a man lies with his father’s wife, he has uncovered his father’s nakedness. Both must surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.	If a man lies with his father’s wife, he has uncovered his father’s nakedness; both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.	And the man that lieth with his father's wife hath uncovered his father's nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood <i>shall be</i> upon them.	If <i>there is</i> a man who sleeps with his father’s wife, he has uncovered his father’s nakedness. Both of them must be put to death, <i>they have brought</i> their own deaths upon themselves.	“’If a man has sexual relations with his father’s wife, he has dishonored his father. Both the man and the woman are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
12	If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both must surely be put to death. They have acted perversely; their blood is upon them.	If a man lies with his daughter-in-law, both of them shall surely be put to death; they have committed perversion; their blood is upon them.	And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood <i>shall be</i> upon them.	If <i>there is</i> a man who sleeps with his daughter-in-law, both of them must be put to death. They have committed incest, <i>and have brought</i> their own deaths upon themselves.	“’If a man has sexual relations with his daughter-in-law, both of them are to be put to death. What they have done is a perversion; their blood will be on their own heads.
13	If a man lies with a man as with a woman, they have both committed an abomination. They must surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.	If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.	If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood <i>shall be</i> upon them.	If <i>there is</i> a man who sleeps with a male as those who sleep with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they must be put to death. <i>They have brought</i> their own deaths upon themselves.	“’If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
14	If a man marries both a woman and her mother, it is depraved. Both he and they must be burned in the fire, so that there will be no depravity among you.	If a man takes a woman and her mother also, it is depravity; he and they shall be burned with fire, that there may be no depravity among you.	And if a man take a wife and her mother, it <i>is</i> wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you.	If <i>there is</i> a man who marries a woman and her mother, it is an outrageous sin; both he and they shall be burned with fire, so that there will be no <i>such</i> outrageous sin in your midst.	“’If a man marries both a woman and her mother, it is wicked. Both he and they must be burned in the fire, so that no wickedness will be among you.
15	If a man lies carnally with an animal, he must be put to death. And you are also to kill the animal.	If a man lies with an animal, he shall surely be put to death, and you shall kill the animal.	And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.	If <i>there is</i> a man who has sexual intercourse with an animal, he must be put to death; you shall also kill the animal.	“’If a man has sexual relations with an animal, he is to be put to death, and you must kill the animal.
16	If a woman approaches any animal to mate with it, you must kill both the woman and the animal. They must surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.	If a woman approaches any animal and lies with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.	And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood <i>shall be</i> upon them.	If <i>there is</i> a woman who approaches any animal to mate with it, you shall kill the woman and the animal; they must be put to death. <i>They have brought</i> their own deaths upon themselves.	“’If a woman approaches an animal to have sexual relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.
17	If a man marries his sister, whether the daughter of his father or of his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They must be cut off in the sight of their people. He has uncovered the nakedness of his sister; he shall bear his iniquity.	“If a man takes his sister, a daughter of his father or a daughter of his mother, and sees her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness, it is a disgrace, and they shall be cut off in the sight of the children of their people. He has uncovered his sister’s nakedness, and he shall bear his iniquity.	And if a man shall take his sister, his father's daughter, or his mother's daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it <i>is</i> a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister's nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity.	‘If <i>there is</i> a man who takes his sister, his father’s daughter or his mother’s daughter, so that he sees her nakedness and she sees his nakedness, it is a disgrace; and they shall be cut off in the sight of the sons of their people. He has uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he bears his guilt.	“’If a man marries his sister, the daughter of either his father or his mother, and they have sexual relations, it is a disgrace. They are to be publicly removed from their people. He has dishonored his sister and will be held responsible.
18	If a man lies with a menstruating woman and has sexual relations with her, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has uncovered the source of her blood. Both of them must be cut off from among their people.	If a man lies with a woman during her menstrual period and uncovers her nakedness, he has made naked her fountain, and she has uncovered the fountain of her blood. Both of them shall be cut off from among their people.	And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people.	If <i>there is</i> a man who sleeps with a menstruous woman and uncovers her nakedness, he has exposed her flow, and she has uncovered the flow of her blood; so both of them shall be cut off from among their people.	“’If a man has sexual relations with a woman during her monthly period, he has exposed the source of her flow, and she has also uncovered it. Both of them are to be cut off from their people.
19	You must not have sexual relations with the sister of your mother or your father, for it is exposing one’s own kin; both shall bear their iniquity.	You shall not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister or of your father’s sister, for that is to make naked one’s relative; they shall bear their iniquity.	And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother's sister, nor of thy father's sister: for he uncovereth his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity.	You shall also not uncover the nakedness of your mother’s sister or of your father’s sister, for <i>such a one</i> has uncovered his blood relative; they will bear their guilt.	“’Do not have sexual relations with the sister of either your mother or your father, for that would dishonor a close relative; both of you would be held responsible.
20	If a man lies with his uncle’s wife, he has uncovered the nakedness of his uncle. They will bear their sin; they shall die childless.	If a man lies with his uncle’s wife, he has uncovered his uncle’s nakedness; they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.	And if a man shall lie with his uncle's wife, he hath uncovered his uncle's nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless.	If <i>there is</i> a man who sleeps with his uncle’s wife, he has uncovered his uncle’s nakedness; they will bear their sin. They will die childless.	“’If a man has sexual relations with his aunt, he has dishonored his uncle. They will be held responsible; they will die childless.
21	If a man marries his brother’s wife, it is an act of impurity. He has uncovered the nakedness of his brother; they shall be childless.	If a man takes his brother’s wife, it is impurity. He has uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless.	And if a man shall take his brother's wife, it <i>is</i> an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother's nakedness; they shall be childless.	If <i>there is</i> a man who takes his brother’s wife, it is detestable; he has uncovered his brother’s nakedness. They will be childless.	“’If a man marries his brother’s wife, it is an act of impurity; he has dishonored his brother. They will be childless.
22	You are therefore to keep all My statutes and ordinances, so that the land where I am bringing you to live will not vomit you out.	“You shall therefore keep all my statutes and all my rules and do them, that the land where I am bringing you to live may not vomit you out.	Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out.	‘You are therefore to keep all My statutes and all My ordinances, and do them, so that the land to which I am bringing you to live will not vomit you out.	“’Keep all my decrees and laws and follow them, so that the land where I am bringing you to live may not vomit you out.
23	You must not follow the statutes of the nations I am driving out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them.	And you shall not walk in the customs of the nation that I am driving out before you, for they did all these things, and therefore I detested them.	And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.	Furthermore, you shall not follow the customs of the nation which I am going to drive out before you, because they did all these things; therefore I have felt disgust for them.	You must not live according to the customs of the nations I am going to drive out before you. Because they did all these things, I abhorred them.
24	But I have told you that you will inherit their land, since I will give it to you as an inheritance— a land flowing with milk and honey. I am the LORD your God, who has set you apart from the peoples.	But I have said to you, ‘You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey.’ I am the LORD your God, who has separated you from the peoples.	But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I <i>am</i> the LORD your God, which have separated you from <i>other</i> people.	So I have said to you, “You are to take possession of their land, and I Myself will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am the LORD your God, who has singled you out from the peoples.	But I said to you, “You will possess their land; I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am the LORD your God, who has set you apart from the nations.
25	You are therefore to distinguish between clean and unclean animals and birds. Do not become contaminated by any animal or bird, or by anything that crawls on the ground; I have set these apart as unclean for you.	You shall therefore separate the clean beast from the unclean, and the unclean bird from the clean. You shall not make yourselves detestable by beast or by bird or by anything with which the ground crawls, which I have set apart for you to hold unclean.	Ye shall therefore put difference between clean beasts and unclean, and between unclean fowls and clean: and ye shall not make your souls abominable by beast, or by fowl, or by any manner of living thing that creepeth on the ground, which I have separated from you as unclean.	You are therefore to make a distinction between the clean animal and the unclean, and between the unclean bird and the clean; and you shall not make yourselves detestable by animal or by bird, or by anything that crawls on the ground, which I have distinguished for you as unclean.	“’You must therefore make a distinction between clean and unclean animals and between unclean and clean birds. Do not defile yourselves by any animal or bird or anything that moves along the ground—those that I have set apart as unclean for you.
26	You are to be holy to Me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be My own.	You shall be holy to me, for I the LORD am holy and have separated you from the peoples, that you should be mine.	And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD <i>am</i> holy, and have severed you from <i>other</i> people, that ye should be mine.	So you are to be holy to Me, for I the LORD am holy; and I have singled you out from the peoples to be Mine.	You are to be holy to me because I, the LORD, am holy, and I have set you apart from the nations to be my own.
27	A man or a woman who is a medium or spiritist must surely be put to death. They shall be stoned; their blood is upon them.’ ”	“A man or a woman who is a medium or a necromancer shall surely be put to death. They shall be stoned with stones; their blood shall be upon them.”	A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood <i>shall be</i> upon them.	‘Now a man or a woman who is a medium or a spiritist must be put to death. They shall be stoned with stones; <i>they have brought</i> their own deaths upon themselves.’”	“’A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.’”
