Now Adam knew Eve his wife, and she conceived and bore Cain, saying, “I have gotten a man with the help of the LORD.” Adam made love to his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain. She said, “With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man.”
And again, she bore his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, and Cain a worker of the ground. Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil.
