And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, mocking her son. But Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, whom she had borne to Abraham, laughing. But Sarah saw that the son whom Hagar the Egyptian had borne to Abraham was mocking,
And she said to Abraham, “Drive out this maidservant and her son, for the son of this maidservant shall not be heir with my son, with Isaac.” So she said to Abraham, “Cast out this slave woman with her son, for the son of this slave woman shall not be heir with my son Isaac.” and she said to Abraham, “Get rid of that slave woman and her son, for that woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac.”
And the matter was very displeasing in the eyes of Abraham, for the cause of his son. And the thing was very displeasing to Abraham on account of his son. The matter distressed Abraham greatly because it concerned his son.
And God said to Abraham, “Let it not be wrong in your eyes because of the boy or because of your maidservant; all that Sarah has said to you, listen to her voice. For in Isaac your seed will be reckoned. But God said to Abraham, “Be not displeased because of the boy and because of your slave woman. Whatever Sarah says to you, do as she tells you, for through Isaac shall your offspring be named. But God said to him, “Do not be so distressed about the boy and your slave woman. Listen to whatever Sarah tells you, because it is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.
Yet the son of the maidservant I will make into a nation, because he is your seed.” And I will make a nation of the son of the slave woman also, because he is your offspring.” I will make the son of the slave into a nation also, because he is your offspring.”
