“Now at that time, Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your people, will stand. And there will be a time of distress such as never happened since there was a nation until that time; and at that time your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be rescued. “At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book. “At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people—everyone whose name is found written in the book—will be delivered.
And many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to reproach and everlasting contempt. And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.
And those who have insight will shine brightly like the brightness of the expanse of heaven, and those who lead the many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.
But as for you, Daniel, conceal these words and seal up the book until the time of the end; many will go to and fro, and knowledge will increase.” But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” But you, Daniel, roll up and seal the words of the scroll until the time of the end. Many will go here and there to increase knowledge.”
Then I, Daniel, looked, and behold, two others were standing, one on this bank of the river and the other on that bank of the river. Then I, Daniel, looked, and behold, two others stood, one on this bank of the stream and one on that bank of the stream. Then I, Daniel, looked, and there before me stood two others, one on this bank of the river and one on the opposite bank.
And one said to the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be until the end of these wonders?” And someone said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream, “How long shall it be till the end of these wonders?” One of them said to the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, “How long will it be before these astonishing things are fulfilled?”
And I heard the man dressed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, as he raised his right hand and his left toward heaven, and swore by Him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time; and as soon as they complete shattering the power of the holy people, all these events will be completed. And I heard the man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the stream; he raised his right hand and his left hand toward heaven and swore by him who lives forever that it would be for a time, times, and half a time, and that when the shattering of the power of the holy people comes to an end all these things would be finished. The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, “It will be for a time, times and half a time. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed.”
As for me, I heard but could not understand; so I said, “My lord, what will be the outcome of these events?” I heard, but I did not understand. Then I said, “O my lord, what shall be the outcome of these things?” I heard, but I did not understand. So I asked, “My lord, what will the outcome of all this be?”
Then he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for these words are concealed and sealed up until the time of the end. He said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are shut up and sealed until the time of the end. He replied, “Go your way, Daniel, because the words are rolled up and sealed until the time of the end.
Many will be purged, purified, and refined, but the wicked will act wickedly; and none of the wicked will understand, but those who have insight will understand. Many shall purify themselves and make themselves white and be refined, but the wicked shall act wickedly. And none of the wicked shall understand, but those who are wise shall understand. Many will be purified, made spotless and refined, but the wicked will continue to be wicked. None of the wicked will understand, but those who are wise will understand.
But from the time that the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. And from the time that the regular burnt offering is taken away and the abomination that makes desolate is set up, there shall be 1,290 days. “From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.
How blessed is he who keeps waiting and reaches the 1,335 days! Blessed is he who waits and arrives at the 1,335 days. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.
But as for you, go your way to the end; then you will enter into rest and stand again for your allotted portion at the end of the days.” But go your way till the end. And you shall rest and shall stand in your allotted place at the end of the days.” “As for you, go your way till the end. You will rest, and then at the end of the days you will rise to receive your allotted inheritance.”
