1	Now the wife of one of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant, my husband, is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD. And now his creditor is coming to take my two children as his slaves!”	Now the wife of one of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD, but the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves.”	Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.	Now a woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the LORD; and the creditor has come to take my two children to be his slaves.”	The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the LORD. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.”
2	“How can I help you?” asked Elisha. “Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She answered, “Your servant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”	And Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me; what have you in the house?” And she said, “Your servant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil.”	And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.	So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your servant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil.”	Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?” “Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.”
3	“Go,” said Elisha, “borrow jars, even empty ones, from all your neighbors. Do not gather just a few.	Then he said, “Go outside, borrow vessels from all your neighbors, empty vessels and not too few.	Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, <i>even</i> empty vessels; borrow not a few.	Then he said, “Go, borrow containers elsewhere for yourself, empty containers from all your neighbors—do not get <i>too</i> few.	Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few.
4	Then go inside, shut the door behind you and your sons, and pour oil into all these jars, setting the full ones aside.”	Then go in and shut the door behind yourself and your sons and pour into all these vessels. And when one is full, set it aside.”	And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.	Then you shall come in and shut the door behind you and your sons, and pour into all these containers; and you shall set aside what is full.”	Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”
5	So she left him, and after she had shut the door behind her and her sons, they kept bringing jars to her, and she kept pouring.	So she went from him and shut the door behind herself and her sons. And as she poured they brought the vessels to her.	So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought <i>the vessels</i> to her; and she poured out.	So she left him and shut the door behind her and her sons; they <i>began</i> bringing <i>the containers</i> to her, and she poured <i>the oil.</i>	She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring.
6	When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another.” But he replied, “There are no more jars.” Then the oil stopped flowing.	When the vessels were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another.” Then the oil stopped flowing.	And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, <i>There is</i> not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.	When the containers were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another container.” But he said to her, “There are no more containers.” Then the oil stopped.	When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.
7	She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt. Then you and your sons can live on the remainder.”	She came and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts, and you and your sons can live on the rest.”	Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay thy debt, and live thou and thy children of the rest.	So she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt, and you <i>and</i> your sons can live on the rest.”	She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”
8	One day Elisha went to Shunem, and a prominent woman who lived there persuaded him to have a meal. So whenever he would pass by, he would stop there to eat.	One day Elisha went on to Shunem, where a wealthy woman lived, who urged him to eat some food. So whenever he passed that way, he would turn in there to eat food.	And it fell on a day, that Elisha passed to Shunem, where <i>was</i> a great woman; and she constrained him to eat bread. And <i>so</i> it was, <i>that</i> as oft as he passed by, he turned in thither to eat bread.	Now a day came when Elisha went over to Shunem, where there was a prominent woman, and she urged him to eat food. And so it was, as often as he passed by, <i>that</i> he turned in there to eat food.	One day Elisha went to Shunem. And a well-to-do woman was there, who urged him to stay for a meal. So whenever he came by, he stopped there to eat.
9	Then the woman said to her husband, “Behold, now I know that the one who often comes our way is a holy man of God.	And she said to her husband, “Behold now, I know that this is a holy man of God who is continually passing our way.	And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this <i>is</i> an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually.	And she said to her husband, “Behold now, I am aware that this is a holy man of God passing by us repeatedly.	She said to her husband, “I know that this man who often comes our way is a holy man of God.
10	Please let us make a small room upstairs and put in it a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp for him. Then when he comes to us, he can stay there.”	Let us make a small room on the roof with walls and put there for him a bed, a table, a chair, and a lamp, so that whenever he comes to us, he can go in there.”	Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.	Please, let’s make a little walled upper room, and let’s set up a bed for him there, and a table, a chair, and a lampstand; then it shall be, when he comes to us, <i>that</i> he can turn in there.”	Let’s make a small room on the roof and put in it a bed and a table, a chair and a lamp for him. Then he can stay there whenever he comes to us.”
11	One day Elisha came to visit and went to his upper room to lie down.	One day he came there, and he turned into the chamber and rested there.	And it fell on a day, that he came thither, and he turned into the chamber, and lay there.	Now one day he came there, and turned in to the upper room and rested.	One day when Elisha came, he went up to his room and lay down there.
12	And he said to Gehazi his servant, “Call the Shunammite woman.” And when he had called her, she stood before him,	And he said to Gehazi his servant, “Call this Shunammite.” When he had called her, she stood before him.	And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shunammite. And when he had called her, she stood before him.	Then he said to his servant Gehazi, “Call this Shunammite.” And when he had called her, she stood before him.	He said to his servant Gehazi, “Call the Shunammite.” So he called her, and she stood before him.
13	and Elisha said to Gehazi, “Now tell her, ‘Look, you have gone to all this trouble for us. What can we do for you? Can we speak on your behalf to the king or the commander of the army?’ ” “I have a home among my own people,” she replied.	And he said to him, “Say now to her, ‘See, you have taken all this trouble for us; what is to be done for you? Would you have a word spoken on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army?’” She answered, “I dwell among my own people.”	And he said unto him, Say now unto her, Behold, thou hast been careful for us with all this care; what <i>is</i> to be done for thee? wouldest thou be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the host? And she answered, I dwell among mine own people.	And he said to him, “Say now to her, ‘Behold, you have taken trouble for us with all this care; what can I do for you? Would you like me to speak for you to the king or to the commander of the army?’” But she answered, “I live among my own people.”	Elisha said to him, “Tell her, ‘You have gone to all this trouble for us. Now what can be done for you? Can we speak on your behalf to the king or the commander of the army?’” She replied, “I have a home among my own people.”
14	So he asked, “Then what should be done for her?” “Well, she has no son,” Gehazi replied, “and her husband is old.”	And he said, “What then is to be done for her?” Gehazi answered, “Well, she has no son, and her husband is old.”	And he said, What then <i>is</i> to be done for her? And Gehazi answered, Verily she hath no child, and her husband is old.	So he said, “What then is to be done for her?” And Gehazi answered, “It is a fact that she has no son, and her husband is old.”	“What can be done for her?” Elisha asked. Gehazi said, “She has no son, and her husband is old.”
15	“Call her,” said Elisha. So Gehazi called her, and she stood in the doorway.	He said, “Call her.” And when he had called her, she stood in the doorway.	And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.	He then said, “Call her.” When he had called her, she stood in the doorway.	Then Elisha said, “Call her.” So he called her, and she stood in the doorway.
16	And Elisha declared, “At this time next year, you will hold a son in your arms.” “No, my lord,” she said. “Do not lie to your maidservant, O man of God.”	And he said, “At this season, about this time next year, you shall embrace a son.” And she said, “No, my lord, O man of God; do not lie to your servant.”	And he said, About this season, according to the time of life, thou shalt embrace a son. And she said, Nay, my lord, <i>thou</i> man of God, do not lie unto thine handmaid.	Then he said, “At this season next year, you are going to embrace a son.” And she said, “No, my lord, you man of God, do not lie to your servant.”	“About this time next year,” Elisha said, “you will hold a son in your arms.” “No, my lord!” she objected. “Please, man of God, don’t mislead your servant!”
17	But the woman did conceive, and at that time the next year she gave birth to a son, just as Elisha had told her.	But the woman conceived, and she bore a son about that time the following spring, as Elisha had said to her.	And the woman conceived, and bare a son at that season that Elisha had said unto her, according to the time of life.	Now the woman conceived and gave birth to a son at that season the next year, as Elisha had told her.	But the woman became pregnant, and the next year about that same time she gave birth to a son, just as Elisha had told her.
18	And the child grew, and one day he went out to his father, who was with the harvesters.	When the child had grown, he went out one day to his father among the reapers.	And when the child was grown, it fell on a day, that he went out to his father to the reapers.	When the child was grown, the day came that he went out to his father, to the reapers.	The child grew, and one day he went out to his father, who was with the reapers.
19	“My head! My head!” he complained to his father. So his father told a servant, “Carry him to his mother.”	And he said to his father, “Oh, my head, my head!” The father said to his servant, “Carry him to his mother.”	And he said unto his father, My head, my head. And he said to a lad, Carry him to his mother.	And he said to his father, “My head, my head!” And <i>his father</i> said to his servant, “Carry him to his mother.”	He said to his father, “My head! My head!” His father told a servant, “Carry him to his mother.”
20	After the servant had picked him up and carried him to his mother, the boy sat on her lap until noon, and then he died.	And when he had lifted him and brought him to his mother, the child sat on her lap till noon, and then he died.	And when he had taken him, and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon, and <i>then</i> died.	When he had carried him and brought him to his mother, he sat on her lap until noon, and <i>then</i> he died.	After the servant had lifted him up and carried him to his mother, the boy sat on her lap until noon, and then he died.
21	And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God. Then she shut the door and went out.	And she went up and laid him on the bed of the man of God and shut the door behind him and went out.	And she went up, and laid him on the bed of the man of God, and shut <i>the door</i> upon him, and went out. 22	And the woman called her husband and said, “Please send me one of the servants and one of the donkeys, that I may go quickly to the man of God and return.”	Then she called to her husband and said, “Send me one of the servants and one of the donkeys, that I may quickly go to the man of God and come back again.”	And she called unto her husband, and said, Send me, I pray thee, one of the young men, and one of the asses, that I may run to the man of God, and come again.	Then she called to her husband and said, “Please send me one of the servants and one of the donkeys, so that I may run to the man of God and return.”	She called her husband and said, “Please send me one of the servants and a donkey so I can go to the man of God quickly and return.”
23	“Why would you go to him today?” he replied. “It is not a New Moon or a Sabbath.” “Everything is all right,” she said.	And he said, “Why will you go to him today? It is neither new moon nor Sabbath.” She said, “All is well.”	And he said, Wherefore wilt thou go to him to day? <i>it is</i> neither new moon, nor sabbath. And she said, <i>It shall be</i> well.	But he said, “Why are you going to him today? It is neither new moon nor Sabbath.” So she <i>just</i> said, “<i>It will be</i> fine.”	“Why go to him today?” he asked. “It’s not the New Moon or the Sabbath.” “That’s all right,” she said.
24	Then she saddled the donkey and told her servant, “Drive onward; do not slow the pace for me unless I tell you.”	Then she saddled the donkey, and she said to her servant, “Urge the animal on; do not slacken the pace for me unless I tell you.”	Then she saddled an ass, and said to her servant, Drive, and go forward; slack not <i>thy</i> riding for me, except I bid thee.	Then she saddled the donkey and said to her servant, “Drive <i>the donkey</i> and go on; do not slow down the pace for me unless I tell you.”	She saddled the donkey and said to her servant, “Lead on; don’t slow down for me unless I tell you.”
25	So she set out and went to the man of God at Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her at a distance, he said to his servant Gehazi, “Look, there is the Shunammite woman.	So she set out and came to the man of God at Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her coming, he said to Gehazi his servant, “Look, there is the Shunammite.	So she went and came unto the man of God to mount Carmel. And it came to pass, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to Gehazi his servant, Behold, <i>yonder is</i> that Shunammite:	So she went on and came to the man of God at Mount Carmel. When the man of God saw her at a distance, he said to Gehazi his servant, “Behold, that person there is the Shunammite.	So she set out and came to the man of God at Mount Carmel. When he saw her in the distance, the man of God said to his servant Gehazi, “Look! There’s the Shunammite!
26	Please run out now to meet her and ask, ‘Are you all right? Is your husband all right? Is your child all right?’ ” And she answered, “Everything is all right.”	Run at once to meet her and say to her, ‘Is all well with you? Is all well with your husband? Is all well with the child?’” And she answered, “All is well.”	Run now, I pray thee, to meet her, and say unto her, <i>Is it</i> well with thee? <i>is it</i> well with thy husband? <i>is it</i> well with the child? And she answered, <i>It is</i> well.	Please run now to meet her and say to her, ‘Is it <i>going</i> well for you? Is it <i>going</i> well for your husband? Is it <i>going</i> well for the child?’” Then she answered, “It is <i>going</i> well.”	Run to meet her and ask her, ‘Are you all right? Is your husband all right? Is your child all right?’” “Everything is all right,” she said.
27	When she reached the man of God at the mountain, she clung to his feet. Gehazi came over to push her away, but the man of God said, “Leave her alone, for her soul is in deep distress, and the LORD has hidden it from me and has not told me.”	And when she came to the mountain to the man of God, she caught hold of his feet. And Gehazi came to push her away. But the man of God said, “Leave her alone, for she is in bitter distress, and the LORD has hidden it from me and has not told me.”	And when she came to the man of God to the hill, she caught him by the feet: but Gehazi came near to thrust her away. And the man of God said, Let her alone; for her soul <i>is</i> vexed within her: and the LORD hath hid <i>it</i> from me, and hath not told me.	But she came to the man of God at the hill and took hold of his feet. And Gehazi came up to push her away, but the man of God said, “Leave her alone, for her soul is troubled within her; and the LORD has concealed <i>it</i> from me and has not informed me.”	When she reached the man of God at the mountain, she took hold of his feet. Gehazi came over to push her away, but the man of God said, “Leave her alone! She is in bitter distress, but the LORD has hidden it from me and has not told me why.”
28	Then she said, “Did I ask you for a son, my lord? Didn’t I say, ‘Do not deceive me?’ ”	Then she said, “Did I ask my lord for a son? Did I not say, ‘Do not deceive me?’”	Then she said, Did I desire a son of my lord? did I not say, Do not deceive me?	Then she said, “Did I ask for a son from my lord? Did I not say, ‘Do not give me false hope’?”	“Did I ask you for a son, my lord?” she said. “Didn’t I tell you, ‘Don’t raise my hopes’?”
29	So Elisha said to Gehazi, “Tie up your garment, take my staff in your hand, and go! If you meet anyone, do not greet him, and if anyone greets you, do not answer him. Then lay my staff on the boy’s face.”	He said to Gehazi, “Tie up your garment and take my staff in your hand and go. If you meet anyone, do not greet him, and if anyone greets you, do not reply. And lay my staff on the face of the child.”	Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up thy loins, and take my staff in thine hand, and go thy way: if thou meet any man, salute him not; and if any salute thee, answer him not again: and lay my staff upon the face of the child.	Then he said to Gehazi, “Get ready and take my staff in your hand, and go; if you meet anyone, do not greet him, and if anyone greets you, do not reply to him. And lay my staff on the boy’s face.”	Elisha said to Gehazi, “Tuck your cloak into your belt, take my staff in your hand and run. Don’t greet anyone you meet, and if anyone greets you, do not answer. Lay my staff on the boy’s face.”
30	And the mother of the boy said, “As surely as the LORD lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So he got up and followed her.	Then the mother of the child said, “As the LORD lives and as you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So he arose and followed her.	And the mother of the child said, <i>As</i> the LORD liveth, and <i>as</i> thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And he arose, and followed her.	The mother of the boy said, “As <i>surely as</i> the LORD lives and you yourself live, I will not leave you.” So he got up and followed her.	But the child’s mother said, “As surely as the LORD lives and as you live, I will not leave you.” So he got up and followed her.
31	Gehazi went on ahead of them and laid the staff on the boy’s face, but there was no sound or response. So he went back to meet Elisha and told him, “The boy has not awakened.”	Gehazi went on ahead and laid the staff on the face of the child, but there was no sound or sign of life. Therefore he returned to meet him and told him, “The child has not awakened.”	And Gehazi passed on before them, and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but <i>there was</i> neither voice, nor hearing. Wherefore he went again to meet him, and told him, saying, The child is not awaked.	Then Gehazi went on ahead of them and laid the staff on the boy’s face, but there was no sound or response. So he returned to meet him and informed him, saying, “The boy has not awakened.”	Gehazi went on ahead and laid the staff on the boy’s face, but there was no sound or response. So Gehazi went back to meet Elisha and told him, “The boy has not awakened.”
32	When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his bed.	When Elisha came into the house, he saw the child lying dead on his bed.	And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead, <i>and</i> laid upon his bed.	When Elisha entered the house, behold the boy was dead, laid on his bed.	When Elisha reached the house, there was the boy lying dead on his couch.
33	So he went in, closed the door behind the two of them, and prayed to the LORD.	So he went in and shut the door behind the two of them and prayed to the LORD.	He went in therefore, and shut the door upon them twain, and prayed unto the LORD.	So he entered and shut the door behind them both, and he prayed to the LORD.	He went in, shut the door on the two of them and prayed to the LORD.
34	Then Elisha got on the bed and lay on the boy, mouth to mouth, eye to eye, and hand to hand. As he stretched himself out over him, the boy’s body became warm.	Then he went up and lay on the child, putting his mouth on his mouth, his eyes on his eyes, and his hands on his hands. And as he stretched himself upon him, the flesh of the child became warm.	And he went up, and lay upon the child, and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands: and he stretched himself upon the child; and the flesh of the child waxed warm.	Then he got up <i>on the bed</i> and lay on the child, and put his mouth on his mouth, his eyes on his eyes, his hands on his hands, and he bent down on him; and the flesh of the child became warm.	Then he got on the bed and lay on the boy, mouth to mouth, eyes to eyes, hands to hands. As he stretched himself out on him, the boy’s body grew warm.
35	Elisha turned away and paced back and forth across the room. Then he got on the bed and stretched himself out over the boy again, and the boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.	Then he got up again and walked once back and forth in the house, and went up and stretched himself upon him. The child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.	Then he returned, and walked in the house to and fro; and went up, and stretched himself upon him: and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.	Then he returned and walked in the house back and forth once, and went up and bent down on him; and the boy sneezed seven times, then the boy opened his eyes.	Elisha turned away and walked back and forth in the room and then got on the bed and stretched out on him once more. The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.
36	Elisha summoned Gehazi and said, “Call the Shunammite woman.” So he called her and she came. Then Elisha said, “Pick up your son.”	Then he summoned Gehazi and said, “Call this Shunammite.” So he called her. And when she came to him, he said, “Pick up your son.”	And he called Gehazi, and said, Call this Shunammite. So he called her. And when she was come in unto him, he said, Take up thy son.	And he called Gehazi and said, “Call this Shunammite.” So he called her. And when she came to him, he said, “Pick up your son.”	Elisha summoned Gehazi and said, “Call the Shunammite.” And he did. When she came, he said, “Take your son.”
37	She came in, fell at his feet, and bowed to the ground. Then she picked up her son and went out.	She came and fell at his feet, bowing to the ground. Then she picked up her son and went out.	Then she went in, and fell at his feet, and bowed herself to the ground, and took up her son, and went out.	Then she came in and fell at his feet and bowed down to the ground, and she picked up her son and left.	She came in, fell at his feet and bowed to the ground. Then she took her son and went out.
38	When Elisha returned to Gilgal, there was a famine in the land. As the sons of the prophets were sitting at his feet, he said to his attendant, “Put on the large pot and boil some stew for the sons of the prophets.”	And Elisha came again to Gilgal when there was a famine in the land. And as the sons of the prophets were sitting before him, he said to his servant, “Set on the large pot, and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”	And Elisha came again to Gilgal: and <i>there was</i> a dearth in the land; and the sons of the prophets <i>were</i> sitting before him: and he said unto his servant, Set on the great pot, and seethe pottage for the sons of the prophets.	When Elisha returned to Gilgal, <i>there was</i> a famine in the land. As the sons of the prophets were sitting in front of him, he said to his servant, “Put on the large pot and boil stew for the sons of the prophets.”	Elisha returned to Gilgal and there was a famine in that region. While the company of the prophets was meeting with him, he said to his servant, “Put on the large pot and cook some stew for these prophets.”
39	One of them went out to the field to gather herbs, and he found a wild vine from which he gathered as many wild gourds as his garment could hold. Then he came back and cut them up into the pot of stew, though no one knew what they were. 40	And they poured it out for the men to eat, but when they tasted the stew they cried out, “There is death in the pot, O man of God!” And they could not eat it.	And they poured out some for the men to eat. But while they were eating of the stew, they cried out, “O man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it.	So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O <i>thou</i> man of God, <i>there is</i> death in the pot. And they could not eat <i>thereof</i>.	So they poured <i>it</i> out for the men to eat. But as they were eating the stew, they cried out and said, “You man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they were unable to eat.	The stew was poured out for the men, but as they began to eat it, they cried out, “Man of God, there is death in the pot!” And they could not eat it.
41	Then Elisha said, “Get some flour.” He threw it into the pot and said, “Pour it out for the people to eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.	He said, “Then bring flour.” And he threw it into the pot and said, “Pour some out for the men, that they may eat.” And there was no harm in the pot.	But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast <i>it</i> into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.	Then he said, “Bring flour.” And he threw it into the pot, and said, “Pour <i>it</i> out for the people that they may eat.” Then there was nothing harmful in the pot.	Elisha said, “Get some flour.” He put it into the pot and said, “Serve it to the people to eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.
42	Now a man from Baal-shalishah came to the man of God with a sack of twenty loaves of barley bread from the first ripe grain. “Give it to the people to eat,” said Elisha.	A man came from Baal-shalishah, bringing the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain in his sack. And Elisha said, “Give to the men, that they may eat.”	And there came a man from Baalshalisha, and brought the man of God bread of the firstfruits, twenty loaves of barley, and full ears of corn in the husk thereof. And he said, Give unto the people, that they may eat.	Now a man came from Baal-shalishah, and brought the man of God bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley and fresh grain in his sack. And <i>Elisha</i> said, “Give <i>them</i> to the people that they may eat.”	A man came from Baal Shalishah, bringing the man of God twenty loaves of barley bread baked from the first ripe grain, along with some heads of new grain. “Give it to the people to eat,” Elisha said.
43	But his servant asked, “How am I to set twenty loaves before a hundred men?” “Give it to the people to eat,” said Elisha, “for this is what the LORD says: ‘They will eat and have some left over.’ ”	But his servant said, “How can I set this before a hundred men?” So he repeated, “Give them to the men, that they may eat, for thus says the LORD, ‘They shall eat and have some left.’”	And his servitor said, What, should I set this before an hundred men? He said again, Give the people, that they may eat: for thus saith the LORD, They shall eat, and shall leave <i>thereof</i>.	But his attendant said, “How am I to serve this to a hundred men?” Nevertheless he said, “Give <i>them</i> to the people that they may eat, for this is what the LORD says: ‘They shall eat and have <i>some</i> left over.’”	“How can I set this before a hundred men?” his servant asked. But Elisha answered, “Give it to the people to eat. For this is what the LORD says: ‘They will eat and have some left over.’”
44	So he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the LORD.	So he set it before them. And they ate and had some left, according to the word of the LORD.	So he set <i>it</i> before them, and they did eat, and left <i>thereof</i>, according to the word of the LORD.	So he served <i>it</i> to them, and they ate and had <i>some</i> left over, in accordance with the word of the LORD.	Then he set it before them, and they ate and had some left over, according to the word of the LORD.
