1	וַיְהִ֞י מִקֵּ֣ץ ׀ עֶשְׂרִ֣ים שָׁנָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר בָּנָ֧ה שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה אֶת־ בֵּ֥ית יְהוָ֖ה וְאֶת־ בֵּיתֽוֹ׃	At the end of twenty years, in which Solomon had built the house of the LORD and his own house,	At the end of twenty years, during which Solomon built the temple of the LORD and his own palace,
2	וְהֶעָרִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר נָתַ֤ן חוּרָם֙ לִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה בָּנָ֥ה שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה אֹתָ֑ם וַיּ֥וֹשֶׁב שָׁ֖ם אֶת־ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃	Solomon rebuilt the cities that Hiram had given to him, and settled the people of Israel in them.	Solomon rebuilt the villages that Hiram had given him, and settled Israelites in them.
3	וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה֙ חֲמָ֣ת צוֹבָ֔ה וַיֶּחֱזַ֖ק עָלֶֽיהָ׃	And Solomon went to Hamath-zobah and took it.	Solomon then went to Hamath Zobah and captured it.
4	וַיִּ֥בֶן אֶת־ תַּדְמֹ֖ר בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר וְאֵת֙ כָּל־ עָרֵ֣י הַֽמִּסְכְּנ֔וֹת אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּנָ֖ה בַּחֲמָֽת׃	He built Tadmor in the wilderness and all the store cities that he built in Hamath.	He also built up Tadmor in the desert and all the store cities he had built in Hamath.
5	וַיִּ֜בֶן אֶת־ בֵּ֤ית חוֹרוֹן֙ הָֽעֶלְי֔וֹן וְאֶת־ בֵּ֥ית חוֹר֖וֹן הַתַּחְתּ֑וֹן עָרֵ֣י מָצ֔וֹר חוֹמ֖וֹת דְּלָתַ֥יִם וּבְרִֽיחַ׃	He also built Upper Beth-horon and Lower Beth-horon, fortified cities with walls, gates, and bars,	He rebuilt Upper Beth Horon and Lower Beth Horon as fortified cities, with walls and with gates and bars,
6	וְאֶֽת־ בַּעֲלָ֗ת וְאֵ֨ת כָּל־ עָרֵ֤י הַֽמִּסְכְּנוֹת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָי֣וּ לִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וְאֵת֙ כָּל־ עָרֵ֣י הָרֶ֔כֶב וְאֵ֖ת עָרֵ֣י הַפָּרָשִׁ֑ים וְאֵ֣ת ׀ כָּל־ חֵ֣שֶׁק שְׁלֹמֹ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֤ר חָשַׁק֙ לִבְנ֤וֹת בִּירֽוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ וּבַלְּבָנ֔וֹן וּבְכֹ֖ל אֶ֥רֶץ מֶמְשַׁלְתּֽוֹ׃	and Baalath, and all the store cities that Solomon had and all the cities for his chariots and the cities for his horsemen, and whatever Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.	as well as Baalath and all his store cities, and all the cities for his chariots and for his horses —whatever he desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon and throughout all the territory he ruled.
7	כָּל־ הָ֠עָם הַנּוֹתָ֨ר מִן־ הַחִתִּ֜י וְהָאֱמֹרִ֤י וְהַפְּרִזִּי֙ וְהַחִוִּ֣י וְהַיְבוּסִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֛ר לֹ֥א מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֖ל הֵֽמָּה׃	All the people who were left of the Hittites, the Amorites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, who were not of Israel,	There were still people left from the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites (these people were not Israelites).
8	מִן־ בְּנֵיהֶ֗ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר נוֹתְר֤וּ אַחֲרֵיהֶם֙ בָּאָ֔רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר לֹֽא־ כִלּ֖וּם בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיַּעֲלֵ֤ם שְׁלֹמֹה֙ לְמַ֔ס עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃	from their descendants who were left after them in the land, whom the people of Israel had not destroyed—these Solomon drafted as forced labor, and so they are to this day.	Solomon conscripted the descendants of all these people remaining in the land—whom the Israelites had not destroyed—to serve as slave labor, as it is to this day.
