| 5 | וַיַּעֲמֵ֨ד שֹֽׁפְטִ֜ים בָּאָ֗רֶץ בְּכָל־ עָרֵ֧י יְהוּדָ֛ה הַבְּצֻר֖וֹת לְעִ֥יר וָעִֽיר׃ | He appointed judges in the land in all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city, | He appointed judges in the land, in each of the fortified cities of Judah. | |
| 6 | וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֶל־ הַשֹּֽׁפְטִ֗ים רְאוּ֙ מָֽה־ אַתֶּ֣ם עֹשִׂ֔ים כִּ֣י לֹ֧א לְאָדָ֛ם תִּשְׁפְּט֖וּ כִּ֣י לַיהוָ֑ה וְעִמָּכֶ֖ם בִּדְבַ֥ר מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ | and said to the judges, “Consider what you do, for you judge not for man but for the LORD. He is with you in giving judgment. | He told them, “Consider carefully what you do, because you are not judging for mere mortals but for the LORD, who is with you whenever you give a verdict. | |
