1 Jehoshaphat his son then became king [of Judah] in Asa’s place, and strengthened his position over Israel. Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place and strengthened himself against Israel. Jehoshaphat his son succeeded him as king and strengthened himself against Israel.
2 He placed troops in all the fortified cities of Judah, and set garrisons in the land of Judah and in the cities of Ephraim which his father Asa had captured.
