But Jeroboam caused an ambush to come about behind them; so they were before Judah, and the ambush was behind them. Jeroboam had sent an ambush around to come upon them from behind. Thus his troops were in front of Judah, and the ambush was behind them. Now Jeroboam had sent troops around to the rear, so that while he was in front of Judah the ambush was behind them.
When Judah looked back, behold, the battle was before and behind them; and they cried to Yahweh, and the priests sounded with the trumpets. And when Judah looked, behold, the battle was in front of and behind them. And they cried to the LORD, and the priests blew the trumpets. Judah turned and saw that they were being attacked at both front and rear. Then they cried out to the LORD. The priests blew their trumpets
Then the men of Judah gave a shout. As the men of Judah shouted, God struck Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. Then the men of Judah raised the battle shout. And when the men of Judah shouted, God defeated Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah. and the men of Judah raised the battle cry. At the sound of their battle cry, God routed Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.
The children of Israel fled before Judah, and God delivered them into their hand. The men of Israel fled before Judah, and God gave them into their hand. The Israelites fled before Judah, and God delivered them into their hands.
Abijah and his people killed them with a great slaughter, so five hundred thousand chosen men of Israel fell down slain. Abijah and his people struck them with great force, so there fell slain of Israel 500,000 chosen men. Abijah and his troops inflicted heavy losses on them, so that there were five hundred thousand casualties among Israel’s able men.
Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied on Yahweh, the God of their fathers. Thus the men of Israel were subdued at that time, and the men of Judah prevailed, because they relied on the LORD, the God of their fathers. The Israelites were subdued on that occasion, and the people of Judah were victorious because they relied on the LORD, the God of their ancestors.
Abijah pursued Jeroboam, and took cities from him: Bethel with its villages, Jeshanah with its villages, and Ephron with its villages. And Abijah pursued Jeroboam and took cities from him, Bethel with its villages and Jeshanah with its villages and Ephron with its villages. Abijah pursued Jeroboam and took from him the towns of Bethel, Jeshanah and Ephron, with their surrounding villages.
Jeroboam didn’t recover strength again in the days of Abijah. Yahweh struck him, and he died. Jeroboam did not recover his power in the days of Abijah. And the LORD struck him down, and he died. Jeroboam did not regain power during the time of Abijah. And the LORD struck him down and he died.
But Abijah grew mighty and took for himself fourteen wives, and became the father of twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters. But Abijah grew mighty. And he took fourteen wives and had twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters. But Abijah grew in strength. He married fourteen wives and had twenty-two sons and sixteen daughters.
The rest of the acts of Abijah, his ways, and his sayings are written in the commentary of the prophet Iddo. The rest of the acts of Abijah, his ways and his sayings, are written in the story of the prophet Iddo.
