First of all, then, I exhort that petitions and prayers, requests and thanksgivings, be made for all men, First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people—
for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.
This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
who desires all men to be saved and to come to the full knowledge of the truth. who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,
who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the witness for this proper time. who gave himself as a ransom for all, which is the testimony given at the proper time. who gave himself as a ransom for all people. This has now been witnessed to at the proper time.
For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth. And for this purpose I was appointed a herald and an apostle—I am telling the truth, I am not lying—and a true and faithful teacher of the Gentiles.
Therefore I want the men in every place to pray, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and dissension. I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling; Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.
Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, with modesty and self-restraint, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly clothing, likewise also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, I also want the women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, adorning themselves, not with elaborate hairstyles or gold or pearls or expensive clothes,
but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women professing godliness. but with what is proper for women who profess godliness—with good works. but with good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.
A woman must learn in quietness, in all submission. Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. A woman should learn in quietness and full submission.
But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet.
For it was Adam who was first formed, and then Eve. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; For Adam was formed first, then Eve.
And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into trespass. and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.
But she will be saved through the bearing of children, if they continue in faith and love and sanctification with self-restraint. Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control. But women will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety.
