New Living Translation | King James Bible |
Then Bildad the Shuhite replied: | 1Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said, |
“God is powerful and dreadful. He enforces peace in the heavens. | 2Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places. |
Who is able to count his heavenly army? Doesn’t his light shine on all the earth? | 3Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise? |
How can a mortal be innocent before God? Can anyone born of a woman be pure? | 4How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman? |
God is more glorious than the moon; he shines brighter than the stars. | 5Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight. |
In comparison, people are maggots; we mortals are mere worms.” | 6How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm? |
