New King James Version | English Standard Version |
To the Chief Musician. With stringed instruments. A Contemplation of David when the Ziphites went and said to Saul, “Is David not hiding with us?” Save me, O God, by Your name, And vindicate me by Your strength. | 1O God, save me by your name, and vindicate me by your might. |
Hear my prayer, O God; Give ear to the words of my mouth. | 2O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth. |
For strangers have risen up against me, And oppressors have sought after my life; They have not set God before them. Selah | 3For strangers have risen against me; ruthless men seek my life; they do not set God before themselves. Selah |
Behold, God is my helper; The Lord is with those who uphold my life. | 4Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life. |
He will repay my enemies for their evil. Cut them off in Your truth. | 5He will return the evil to my enemies; in your faithfulness put an end to them. |
I will freely sacrifice to You; I will praise Your name, O LORD, for it is good. | 6With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you; I will give thanks to your name, O LORD, for it is good. |
For He has delivered me out of all trouble; And my eye has seen its desire upon my enemies. | 7For he has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies. |
