Psalm 32
NET Parallel NIV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleNew International Version
1By David; a well-written song. How blessed is the one whose rebellious acts are forgiven, whose sin is pardoned! 1Of David. A maskil. Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.
2How blessed is the one whose wrongdoing the LORD does not punish, in whose spirit there is no deceit. 2Blessed is the one whose sin the LORD does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.
3When I refused to confess my sin, my whole body wasted away, while I groaned in pain all day long. 3When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.
4For day and night you tormented me; you tried to destroy me in the intense heat of summer. (Selah) 4For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer.
5Then I confessed my sin; I no longer covered up my wrongdoing. I said, "I will confess my rebellious acts to the LORD." And then you forgave my sins. (Selah) 5Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, "I will confess my transgressions to the LORD." And you forgave the guilt of my sin.
6For this reason every one of your faithful followers should pray to you while there is a window of opportunity. Certainly when the surging water rises, it will not reach them. 6Therefore let all the faithful pray to you while you may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them.
7You are my hiding place; you protect me from distress. You surround me with shouts of joy from those celebrating deliverance. (Selah) 7You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.
8I will instruct and teach you about how you should live. I will advise you as I look you in the eye. 8I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
9Do not be like an unintelligent horse or mule, which will not obey you unless they are controlled by a bridle and bit. 9Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.
10An evil person suffers much pain, but the LORD's faithfulness overwhelms the one who trusts in him. 10Many are the woes of the wicked, but the LORD's unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him.
11Rejoice in the LORD and be happy, you who are godly! Shout for joy, all you who are morally upright! 11Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart!
