Psalm 126
NET Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
NET BibleEnglish Standard Version
1A song of ascents. When the LORD restored the well-being of Zion, we thought we were dreaming. 1When the LORD restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream.
2At that time we laughed loudly and shouted for joy. At that time the nations said, "The LORD has accomplished great things for these people." 2Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, “The LORD has done great things for them.”
3The LORD did indeed accomplish great things for us. We were happy. 3The LORD has done great things for us; we are glad.
4O LORD, restore our well-being, just as the streams in the arid south are replenished. 4Restore our fortunes, O LORD, like streams in the Negeb!
5Those who shed tears as they plant will shout for joy when they reap the harvest. 5Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!
6The one who weeps as he walks along, carrying his bag of seed, will certainly come in with a shout of joy, carrying his sheaves of grain. 6He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
