Psalm 1
NASB Parallel HCSB [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995Holman Christian Standard Bible
1How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!1How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked or take the path of sinners or join a group of mockers!
2But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.2Instead, his delight is in the LORD's instruction, and he meditates on it day and night.
3He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.3He is like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.
4The wicked are not so, But they are like chaff which the wind drives away.4The wicked are not like this; instead, they are like chaff that the wind blows away.
5Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.5Therefore the wicked will not survive the judgment, and sinners will not be in the community of the righteous.
6For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the wicked will perish.6For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin.
