NASB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
New American Standard Bible 1995English Standard Version
Then Job responded,1Then Job answered and said:
"What a help you are to the weak! How you have saved the arm without strength!2“How you have helped him who has no power! How you have saved the arm that has no strength!
"What counsel you have given to one without wisdom! What helpful insight you have abundantly provided!3How you have counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!
"To whom have you uttered words? And whose spirit was expressed through you?4With whose help have you uttered words, and whose breath has come out from you?
"The departed spirits tremble Under the waters and their inhabitants.5The dead tremble under the waters and their inhabitants.
"Naked is Sheol before Him, And Abaddon has no covering.6Sheol is naked before God, and Abaddon has no covering.
"He stretches out the north over empty space And hangs the earth on nothing.7He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing.
"He wraps up the waters in His clouds, And the cloud does not burst under them.8He binds up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not split open under them.
"He obscures the face of the full moon And spreads His cloud over it.9He covers the face of the full moon and spreads over it his cloud.
"He has inscribed a circle on the surface of the waters At the boundary of light and darkness.10He has inscribed a circle on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.
"The pillars of heaven tremble And are amazed at His rebuke.11The pillars of heaven tremble and are astounded at his rebuke.
"He quieted the sea with His power, And by His understanding He shattered Rahab.12By his power he stilled the sea; by his understanding he shattered Rahab.
"By His breath the heavens are cleared; His hand has pierced the fleeing serpent.13By his wind the heavens were made fair; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent.
"Behold, these are the fringes of His ways; And how faint a word we hear of Him! But His mighty thunder, who can understand?"14Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways, and how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?”
