| 4To which the tribes go up, even the tribes of the LORD-- An ordinance for Israel-- To give thanks to the name of the LORD. | 4where the tribes, the LORD's tribes, go up to give thanks to the name of the LORD. (This is an ordinance for Israel.) |
| 5For there thrones were set for judgment, The thrones of the house of David. | 5There, thrones for judgment are placed, thrones of the house of David. |
| 6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May they prosper who love you. | 6Pray for the well-being of Jerusalem: "May those who love you be secure; |
| 7"May peace be within your walls, And prosperity within your palaces." | 7may there be peace within your walls, security within your fortresses." |
| 8For the sake of my brothers and my friends, I will now say, "May peace be within you." | 8Because of my brothers and friends, I will say, "May peace be in you." |
