Psalm 63
KJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew Living Translation
1A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;1O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.
2To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.2I have seen you in your sanctuary and gazed upon your power and glory.
3Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.3Your unfailing love is better than life itself; how I praise you!
4Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.4I will praise you as long as I live, lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
5My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:5You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy.
6When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches.6I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night.
7Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.7Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings.
8My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.8I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely.
9But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the lower parts of the earth.9But those plotting to destroy me will come to ruin. They will go down into the depths of the earth.
10They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.10They will die by the sword and become the food of jackals.
11But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.11But the king will rejoice in God. All who swear to tell the truth will praise him, while liars will be silenced.
