Psalm 54
KJV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
King James BibleNew Living Translation
1To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us? Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.1Come with great power, O God, and rescue me! Defend me with your might.
2Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.2Listen to my prayer, O God. Pay attention to my plea.
3For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah.3For strangers are attacking me; violent people are trying to kill me. They care nothing for God. Interlude
4Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.4But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive!
5He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.5May the evil plans of my enemies be turned against them. Do as you promised and put an end to them.
6I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good.6I will sacrifice a voluntary offering to you; I will praise your name, O LORD, for it is good.
7For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.7For you have rescued me from my troubles and helped me to triumph over my enemies.
