King James Bible | New International Version |
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD. | 1For the director of music. Of David. A petition. Hasten, O God, to save me; come quickly, LORD, to help me. |
Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt. | 2May those who want to take my life be put to shame and confusion; may all who desire my ruin be turned back in disgrace. |
Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha. | 3May those who say to me, "Aha! Aha!" turn back because of their shame. |
Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified. | 4But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who long for your saving help always say, "The LORD is great!" |
But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying. | 5But as for me, I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; LORD, do not delay. |
