Psalm 5
ISV Parallel NLT [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
International Standard VersionNew Living Translation
LORD, listen to my words, consider my groaning.1O LORD, hear me as I pray; pay attention to my groaning.
Pay attention to my cry for help, my king and my God, for unto you will I pray.2Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for I pray to no one but you.
LORD, in the morning you will hear my voice; in the morning I will pray to you, and I will watch for your answer. 3Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.
Indeed, you aren't a God who delights in wickedness; evil will never dwell with you.4O God, you take no pleasure in wickedness; you cannot tolerate the sins of the wicked.
Boastful ones will not stand before you; you hate all those who practice wickedness.5Therefore, the proud may not stand in your presence, for you hate all who do evil.
You will destroy those who speak lies. The LORD abhors the person of bloodshed and deceit.6You will destroy those who tell lies. The LORD detests murderers and deceivers.
But I, because of the abundance of your gracious love, may come into your house. In awe of you, I will worship in your holy Temple.7Because of your unfailing love, I can enter your house; I will worship at your Temple with deepest awe.
LORD, lead me in your righteousness because of my enemies. Make your path straight before me.8Lead me in the right path, O LORD, or my enemies will conquer me. Make your way plain for me to follow.
But as for the wicked, they do not speak truth at all. Inside them there is only wickedness. Their throat is an open grave, on their tongue is deceitful flattery.9My enemies cannot speak a truthful word. Their deepest desire is to destroy others. Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave. Their tongues are filled with flattery.
Declare them guilty, God! Let them fall by their own schemes. Drive them away because of their many transgressions, for they have rebelled against you.10O God, declare them guilty. Let them be caught in their own traps. Drive them away because of their many sins, for they have rebelled against you.
Let all those who take refuge in you rejoice! Let them shout for joy forever, and may you protect them. Let those who love your name exult in you.11But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy.
Indeed, you will bless the righteous one, LORD, like a large shield, you will surround him with favor.12For you bless the godly, O LORD; you surround them with your shield of love.
