Holman Christian Standard BibleNew International Version
Then Bildad the Shuhite replied: 1Then Bildad the Shuhite replied:
Dominion and dread belong to Him, the One who establishes harmony in the heavens. 2"Dominion and awe belong to God; he establishes order in the heights of heaven.
Can His troops be numbered? Does His light not shine on everyone? 3Can his forces be numbered? On whom does his light not rise?
How can a person be justified before God? How can one born of woman be pure? 4How then can a mortal be righteous before God? How can one born of woman be pure?
If even the moon does not shine and the stars are not pure in His sight, 5If even the moon is not bright and the stars are not pure in his eyes,
how much less man, who is a maggot, and the son of man, who is a worm! 6how much less a mortal, who is but a maggot-- a human being, who is only a worm!"
