Holman Christian Standard BibleNew American Standard Bible 1995
Then Bildad the Shuhite replied: 1Then Bildad the Shuhite answered,
Dominion and dread belong to Him, the One who establishes harmony in the heavens. 2"Dominion and awe belong to Him Who establishes peace in His heights.
Can His troops be numbered? Does His light not shine on everyone? 3"Is there any number to His troops? And upon whom does His light not rise?
How can a person be justified before God? How can one born of woman be pure? 4"How then can a man be just with God? Or how can he be clean who is born of woman?
If even the moon does not shine and the stars are not pure in His sight, 5"If even the moon has no brightness And the stars are not pure in His sight,
how much less man, who is a maggot, and the son of man, who is a worm! 6How much less man, that maggot, And the son of man, that worm!"
