English Standard Version | King James Bible |
O God, save me by your name, and vindicate me by your might. | 1To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us? Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength. |
O God, hear my prayer; give ear to the words of my mouth. | 2Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth. |
For strangers have risen against me; ruthless men seek my life; they do not set God before themselves. Selah | 3For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah. |
Behold, God is my helper; the Lord is the upholder of my life. | 4Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul. |
He will return the evil to my enemies; in your faithfulness put an end to them. | 5He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth. |
With a freewill offering I will sacrifice to you; I will give thanks to your name, O LORD, for it is good. | 6I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good. |
For he has delivered me from every trouble, and my eye has looked in triumph on my enemies. | 7For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies. |
