Listen to my words, LORD; consider my sighing.1To the chief Musician upon Nehiloth, A Psalm of David. Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
Pay attention to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for I pray to you.2Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I plead my case to you and watch expectantly.3My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
For you are not a God who delights in wickedness; evil cannot dwell with you.4For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
The boastful cannot stand in your sight; you hate all evildoers.5The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
You destroy those who tell lies; the LORD abhors violent and treacherous people.6Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
But I enter your house by the abundance of your faithful love; I bow down toward your holy temple in reverential awe of you.7But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
LORD, lead me in your righteousness because of my adversaries; make your way straight before me.8Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
For there is nothing reliable in what they say; destruction is within them; their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongues.9For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
Punish them, God; let them fall by their own schemes. Drive them out because of their many crimes, for they rebel against you.10Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them shout for joy forever. May you shelter them, and may those who love your name boast about you.11But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
For you, LORD, bless the righteous one; you surround him with favor like a shield.12For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
