Berean Study Bible | New Living Translation |
For the choirmaster. With stringed instruments. A Maskil of David. When the Ziphites went to Saul and said, “Is David not hiding among us?” Save me, O God, by Your name, and vindicate me by Your might! | 1Come with great power, O God, and rescue me! Defend me with your might. |
Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth. | 2Listen to my prayer, O God. Pay attention to my plea. |
For strangers rise up against me, and ruthless men seek my life—men with no regard for God. Selah | 3For strangers are attacking me; violent people are trying to kill me. They care nothing for God. Interlude |
Surely God is my helper; the Lord is the sustainer of my soul. | 4But God is my helper. The Lord keeps me alive! |
He will reward my enemies with evil. In Your faithfulness, destroy them. | 5May the evil plans of my enemies be turned against them. Do as you promised and put an end to them. |
Freely I will sacrifice to You; I will praise Your name, O LORD, for it is good. | 6I will sacrifice a voluntary offering to you; I will praise your name, O LORD, for it is good. |
For He has delivered me from every trouble, and my eyes have stared down my foes. | 7For you have rescued me from my troubles and helped me to triumph over my enemies. |
