BSB Parallel ESV [BSB CSB ESV HCS KJV ISV NAS NET NIV NLT HEB]
Berean Study BibleEnglish Standard Version
Then Job answered:1Then Job answered and said:
“How you have helped the powerless and saved the arm that is feeble!2“How you have helped him who has no power! How you have saved the arm that has no strength!
How you have counseled the unwise and provided fully sound insight!3How you have counseled him who has no wisdom, and plentifully declared sound knowledge!
To whom have you uttered these words? And whose spirit spoke through you?4With whose help have you uttered words, and whose breath has come out from you?
The dead tremble—those who dwell beneath the waters.5The dead tremble under the waters and their inhabitants.
Sheol is naked before Him, and Abaddon has no covering.6Sheol is naked before God, and Abaddon has no covering.
He stretches out the north over empty space; He hangs the earth upon nothing.7He stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing.
He wraps up the waters in His clouds, yet the clouds do not burst under their own weight.8He binds up the waters in his thick clouds, and the cloud is not split open under them.
He covers the face of the full moon, spreading His cloud over it.9He covers the face of the full moon and spreads over it his cloud.
He has inscribed a horizon on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.10He has inscribed a circle on the face of the waters at the boundary between light and darkness.
The foundations of heaven quake, astounded at His rebuke.11The pillars of heaven tremble and are astounded at his rebuke.
By His power He stilled the sea, and by His understanding He shattered Rahab.12By his power he stilled the sea; by his understanding he shattered Rahab.
By His breath the skies were cleared; His hand pierced the fleeing serpent.13By his wind the heavens were made fair; his hand pierced the fleeing serpent.
Indeed, these are but the fringes of His ways; how faint is the whisper we hear of Him! Who then can understand the thunder of His power?”14Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways, and how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?”
