I will weep for the mountains and wail for the wilderness pastures. For they are desolate and empty of life; the lowing of cattle is heard no more; the birds and wild animals have all fled.
The ground is parched and cracked for lack of rain. The farmers are deeply troubled; they, too, cover their heads.
This is what he saw and heard: "The LORD's voice will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem! The lush pastures of the shepherds will dry up; the grass on Mount Carmel will wither and die."
Then the Sovereign LORD showed me another vision. I saw him preparing to punish his people with a great fire. The fire had burned up the depths of the sea and was devouring the entire land.
As for me, I look to the LORD for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me.
