I will pronounce judgment on my people for all their evil--for deserting me and burning incense to other gods. Yes, they worship idols made with their own hands!

But the people who did not die in these plagues still refused to repent of their evil deeds and turn to God. They continued to worship demons and idols made of gold, silver, bronze, stone, and wood--idols that can neither see nor hear nor walk!
"The LORD himself will send on you curses, confusion, and frustration in everything you do, until at last you are completely destroyed for doing evil and abandoning me.
Their land is full of idols; the people worship things they have made with their own hands.
And they have thrown the gods of these nations into the fire and burned them. But of course the Assyrians could destroy them! They were not gods at all--only idols of wood and stone shaped by human hands.
But why not call on these gods you have made? When trouble comes, let them save you if they can! For you have as many gods as there are towns in Judah.
Do you really think you can steal, murder, commit adultery, lie, and burn incense to Baal and all those other new gods of yours,
Their ways are futile and foolish. They cut down a tree, and a craftsman carves an idol.
