We may not live in sin;

for we are dead unto it;

Let not sin reign anymore;

12 mē oun basileuetō ē amartia en tō thnētō umōn sōmati eis to upakouein tais epithumiais autou, 13 mēde paristanete ta melē umōn opla adikias tē amartia, alla parastēsate eautous tō theō ōsei ek nekrōn zōntas kai ta melē umōn opla dikaiosunēs tō theō. 14 amartia gar umōn ou kurieusei· ou gar este upo nomon alla upo charin.

15 ti oun; amartēsōmen oti ouk esmen upo nomon alla upo charin; mē genoito. 16 ouk oidate oti ō paristanete eautous doulous eis upakoēn, douloi este ō upakouete, ētoi amartias eis thanaton ē upakoēs eis dikaiosunēn; 17 charis de tō theō oti ēte douloi tēs amartias upēkousate de ek kardias eis on paredothēte tupon didachēs,

because we have yielded ourselves to the service of righteousness;

18 eleutherōthentes de apo tēs amartias edoulōthēte tē dikaiosunē. 19 anthrōpinon legō dia tēn astheneian tēs sarkos umōn. ōsper gar parestēsate ta melē umōn doula tē akatharsia kai tē anomia eis tēn anomian, outōs nun parastēsate ta melē umōn doula tē dikaiosunē eis agiasmon. 20 ote gar douloi ēte tēs amartias, eleutheroi ēte tē dikaiosunē. 21 tina oun karpon eichete tote; eph ois nun epaischunesthe, to gar telos ekeinōn thanatos. 22 nuni de eleutherōthentes apo tēs amartias doulōthentes de tō theō echete ton karpon umōn eis agiasmon, to de telos zōēn aiōnion.

and because death is the wages of sin.
