1 Corinthians 1 Greek Transliterated Bible
After his salutation and thanksgiving for the Corinthians,
   4 eucharistō  tō  theō  pantote  peri  umōn  epi  tē  chariti  tou  theou  tē  dotheisē  umin  en  christō  iēsou,  5 oti  en  panti  eploutisthēte  en  autō,  en  panti  logō  kai  pasē  gnōsei,  6 kathōs  to  marturion  tou  christou  ebebaiōthē  en  umin,  7 ōste  umas  mē  ustereisthai  en  mēdeni  charismati  apekdechomenous  tēn  apokalupsin  tou  kuriou  ēmōn  iēsou  christou·  8 os  kai  bebaiōsei  umas  eōs  telous  anenklētous  en  tē  ēmera  tou  kuriou  ēmōn  iēsou  christou.  9 pistos  o  theos,  di  ou  eklēthēte  eis  koinōnian  tou  uiou  autou  iēsou  christou  tou  kuriou  ēmōn. 
Paul exhorts them to unity,
   10 parakalō  de  umas  adelphoi,  dia  tou  onomatos  tou  kuriou  ēmōn  iēsou  christou,  ina  to  auto  legēte  pantes  kai  mē  ē  en  umin  schismata  ēte  de  katērtismenoi  en  tō  autō  noi  kai  en  tē  autē  gnōmē.  11 edēlōthē  gar  moi  peri  umōn,  adelphoi  mou  upo  tōn  chloēs  oti  erides  en  umin  eisin. 
and reproves their dissensions.
God destroys the wisdom of the wise,
   18 o  logos  gar  o  tou  staurou  tois  men  apollumenois  mōria  estin,  tois  de  sōzomenois  ēmin  dunamis  theou  estin.  19 gegraptai  gar· 
      apolō  tēn  sophian  tōn  sophōn 
            kai  tēn  sunesin  tōn  sunetōn  athetēsō. 
   20 pou  sophos;  pou  grammateus;  pou  suzētētēs  tou  aiōnos  toutou;  ouchi  emōranen  o  theos  tēn  sophian  tou  kosmou; 
by the foolishness of preaching;
and calls not the wise, mighty, and noble,
but the foolish, weak, and men of no account.
