Jeremiah 1
Peshitta Holy Bible Translated Par ▾
The statement of Jeremiah, son of Khelqia, of the Priests that were in Anathuth that is in the land of Benyamin 2For the word of LORD JEHOVAH was upon him in the days of Yoshia, son of Amon, King of Judea, in the thirteenth year of his kingdom 3And it was in the days of Yoiqim, son of Yoshiah, King of Judea, until eleven years ended for Tsedeqiah, son of Yoshiah, King of Judea, until Jerusalem was captured in the fifth month

And the word of LORD JEHOVAH was upon me saying

“Before I would form you in the womb I knew you, and before you would go out from the womb, I hallowed you, and I have given you as the Prophet to the nations

And I said: "I beg you LORD JEHOVAH God, behold, I do not know how to speak, because I am a boy!"

And LORD JEHOVAH said to me: "Do not say, ‘I am a boy', because to everyone to whom I will send you, you shall go, and all that I shall command you, you shall speak

You shall not be afraid before them, because I am with you to deliver you, says LORD JEHOVAH"

And LORD JEHOVAH reached his hand and he touched my mouth and LORD JEHOVAH said to me: “Behold, I have put my words in your mouth

See that I have authorized you today over the nations and over the kingdoms, to uproot and to break down and to overturn and to destroy and to build and to plant"

And the word of LORD JEHOVAH was upon me, saying: "What have you seen, Jeremiah? And I said, ‘I see a staff of almond’" 12And LORD JEHOVAH said to me: “You have seen well, because I am hurrying concerning my word to do it!”

And the word of LORD JEHOVAH was upon me the second time, and he said: “What do you see? And I said, ‘I see a pot that is pouring and its opening is from the face of the North 14And LORD JEHOVAH said to me: “Evil shall be opened from the North on all the dwellers of the land 15Because, behold, I am sending and I call to all the tribes of the kingdom of the north, says LORD JEHOVAH, and they shall come and they shall set up each man his seat in the entrance of the gate of Jerusalem, and upon all her walls as a circle, and upon all the cities of Judea 16And I shall speak my judgment with them because of all their evil, for they have forsaken me, and they placed sweet incense to other gods, and they worshiped the work of their hands 17And you tie your garment of your loins and arise, say to them everything that I command you. You shall not be afraid of them, lest I break you down before them 18And I, behold, I have made you today as a mighty city, and like pillars of iron, and like a wall of brass over all the Earth, over the Kings of Judea and over their Princes, and over their Priests, and over their Prophets and over all the people of the land 19And they will fight with you and they shall not overcome you, because I am with you to save you, says LORD JEHOVAH
