Psalm 62

To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David.

1Truly, my soul quietly waits upon God; from Him comes my salvation. 2He only is my Rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be shaken. 3How long will persist in your assault against a man? You shall all fall, like an unstable wall, or a tottering fence. 4They plot only to topple me from my high position; they delight in lying; outwardly they bless with their mouth, but inwardly they curse. Selah. 5Wait only upon God, my soul; for my hope is from Him. 6He, alone, is my Rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be moved. 7My salvation and glory is in God; my strength, and the Rock of my refuge, is in God. 8Trust in Him at all times, my people, pour your heart out before Him; God is our refuge. Selah.

9Surely men, both great and small are vanity, and if weighed together on a scale, they are altogether lighter than a breath. 10Do not rely on or resort to oppression or robbery; if your wealth does increase, do not put much stock in it. 11God has said more than once; I have heard this: that power belongs to God. 12Also, mercy belongs to You, O LORD; for You render to every man according to his deeds.

A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.
