David’s Descendants

1. 1Thesea were David’s sons who were born to him in Hebron:
2. Amnon was the firstborn, by Ahinoam of Jezreel;
3. Daniel was born second, by Abigail of Carmel;
4. 2Absalom son of Maacah, daughter of King Talmai of Geshur, was third;
5. Adonijah son of Haggith was fourth;
6. 3Shephatiah, by Abital, was fifth;
7. and Ithream, by David’s wife Eglah, was sixth.
8. 4Six sons were born to David in Hebron, where he reigned seven years and six months, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-three years.a
9. 5Thesea sons were born to him in Jerusalem:
10. Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon.b These four were born to him by Bath-shuac daughter of Ammiel.
11. 6David’s other sons: Ibhar, Elishua,a a Eliphelet, 7Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, 8Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet — nine sons.
12. 9These were all David’s sons, with their sister Tamar,a in addition to the sons by his concubines.

10. Johanan was the firstborn, Jehoiakim second,
11. Zedekiah third, and Shallum fourth.

13. his sons Jeconiah and Zedekiah.

4. Zerubbabel’s sons: Meshullam and Hananiah, with their sister Shelomith; 20and five others — Hashubah, Ohel, Berechiah, Hasadiah, and Jushab-hesed.
