Good News Translation
When Shalmaneser died, his son Sennacherib succeeded him as emperor. It soon became so dangerous to travel on the roads in Media that I could no longer go there.

New Revised Standard Version
But when Shalmaneser died, and his son Sennacherib reigned in his place, the highways into Media became unsafe and I could no longer go there.

Contemporary English Version
Later, after Shalmaneser died and his son Sennacherib took his place as king, Media was no longer a safe place to travel. And so, I never went back for my silver coins.
