Good News Translation
The cavalry, which by now was scattered all over the battlefield, fled to Azotus, where they took refuge in the temple of Dagon, their god.

New Revised Standard Version
and the cavalry was dispersed in the plain. They fled to Azotus and entered Beth-dagon, the temple of their idol, for safety.

Contemporary English Version
and the cavalry scattered over the valleys. Some of the enemy soldiers ran back to Azotus and hid in the temple of their god Dagon, thinking they would be safe.
