Paul writes to the Thessalonians, "For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. The Future Hope of Comfort

Finally, the ultimate source of comfort for believers is the future hope of eternal life with God. Revelation 21:4 offers a vision of this future comfort: "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the former things have passed away." This promise of a new heaven and a new earth, where suffering and sorrow are no more, provides believers with the assurance that their present trials are temporary and that eternal comfort awaits them in the presence of God.
