Kneeling

Kneeling is one of the most common postures of surrender found in the Bible. It signifies humility and submission before God. In the Old Testament, Solomon's prayer of dedication for the temple is a notable example: "Then Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven" (1 Kings 8:22). Although the verse does not explicitly mention kneeling, the act of spreading hands and standing before the altar implies a posture of reverence and surrender.

Bowing is a posture that conveys deep respect and submission. In the book of Genesis, when Abraham's servant found a wife for Isaac, he "bowed down and worshiped the LORD" (Genesis 24:26). This act of bowing was an acknowledgment of God's guidance and provision.
