Lightning

In the Bible, lightning is often depicted as a powerful and awe-inspiring natural phenomenon that signifies the presence and power of God. It is frequently associated with divine revelation, judgment, and the majesty of God. Lightning is mentioned in various contexts throughout the Scriptures, illustrating both its literal and symbolic significance.

In the Old Testament, lightning is often connected with theophanies, where God reveals Himself to His people. For instance, during the giving of the Law at Mount Sinai, the presence of God is accompanied by thunder and lightning, emphasizing His holiness and the seriousness of His covenant with Israel. Exodus 19:16 states, "On the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning, with a thick cloud over the mountain, and a very loud trumpet blast. Everyone in the camp trembled."

Psalm 18:14 describes God's intervention in battle: "He shot His arrows and scattered the foes; He hurled lightning and routed them." Flaming Torches
