Justice of God

The justice of God is a fundamental attribute that underscores His moral perfection and righteousness. It is the principle by which God administers His creation with fairness and equity, rewarding righteousness and punishing wickedness. The Bible consistently affirms that God's justice is impartial and unchanging. In Deuteronomy 32:4, it is declared, "He is the Rock, His work is perfect; all His ways are just. A God of faithfulness without injustice, righteous and upright is He."

God's justice is evident in His laws and commandments, which reflect His holy nature and provide a standard for human conduct. The Mosaic Law, given to Israel, is a testament to God's just character, as it outlines the moral and ceremonial laws intended to guide His people in righteousness. Leviticus 19:15 commands, "You must not pervert justice; you must not show partiality to the poor or favoritism to the rich; you are to judge your neighbor fairly."

The justice of God is also manifest in His dealings with nations and individuals throughout history. The prophets frequently spoke of God's judgment against nations that practiced idolatry, injustice, and immorality. In Isaiah 61:8, God declares, "For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery and wrongdoing; in My faithfulness, I will give them their recompense and make an everlasting covenant with them."

In the New Testament, the justice of God is intricately linked with the message of the Gospel. The sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the cross is the ultimate demonstration of God's justice and mercy. Romans 3:25-26 states, "God presented Him as the atoning sacrifice through faith in His blood, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance He had passed over the sins committed beforehand. He did this to demonstrate His righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and to justify the one who has faith in Jesus."

Power of God

The power of God is another essential attribute that signifies His omnipotence and sovereign control over all creation. God's power is limitless and is displayed in the creation, sustenance, and governance of the universe. Genesis 1:1 affirms, "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth," highlighting His creative power.

Throughout Scripture, God's power is demonstrated in miraculous acts and divine interventions. The parting of the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21-22), the fall of Jericho's walls (Joshua 6:20), and the resurrection of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:5-6) are profound examples of His mighty power at work. Jeremiah 32:17 proclaims, "Ah, Lord GOD! It is You who have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You."

God's power is not only evident in grand displays but also in His ability to transform lives and bring about spiritual renewal. Ephesians 1:19-20 speaks of "the surpassing greatness of His power to us who believe. He displayed this power in the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms."

The power of God assures believers of His ability to fulfill His promises and purposes. Romans 8:28 reminds us, "And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to His purpose." This power is a source of comfort and strength, enabling believers to trust in God's sovereign will and His ability to accomplish what He has ordained.
