Divine Omniscience

Divine omniscience refers to the attribute of God by which He possesses complete and perfect knowledge of all things, past, present, and future. This attribute is foundational to understanding God's nature and His interaction with creation. The Bible affirms God's omniscience in numerous passages, emphasizing His infinite understanding and wisdom.

In Psalm 147:5, the psalmist declares, "Great is our Lord and mighty in power; His understanding has no limit." This verse highlights the boundless nature of God's knowledge, which encompasses all aspects of the universe. Similarly, 1 John 3:20 states, "For God is greater than our hearts, and He knows all things." This passage reassures believers of God's comprehensive awareness, even of the innermost thoughts and intentions of the human heart.

The omniscience of God is also evident in His foreknowledge of future events. Isaiah 46:9-10 proclaims, "Remember the former things of old; for I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, 'My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all My purpose.'" Here, God's ability to declare the end from the beginning underscores His sovereign control and perfect knowledge of the future.

Divine Guidance

Divine guidance refers to the way in which God leads and directs His people according to His will and purpose. This guidance is an expression of His love and care for His creation, ensuring that His plans are fulfilled in the lives of individuals and communities.

The Bible provides numerous examples of God's guidance. In Proverbs 3:5-6, believers are instructed, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." This passage emphasizes the importance of trusting in God's wisdom rather than relying solely on human understanding, promising that He will direct the paths of those who seek Him.

The guidance of God is often mediated through His Word. Psalm 119:105 states, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." Here, the psalmist acknowledges the illuminating power of Scripture, which provides direction and clarity in the journey of faith.
