Authority

In the biblical context, authority is a central theme that underscores the relationship between God, humanity, and the structures within society. The concept of authority is rooted in the sovereignty of God, who is depicted as the ultimate authority over all creation. Genesis 1:1 establishes God's authority as the Creator: "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." This foundational act of creation affirms God's supreme power and right to govern the universe.

Throughout Scripture, God's authority is manifested through His laws, commands, and covenants. In Exodus 20, the Ten Commandments are given as a divine mandate, reflecting God's moral authority over His people. Allegiance

Allegiance in the biblical sense refers to the loyalty and commitment that individuals owe to God and His commandments. The Shema, found in Deuteronomy 6:4-5, encapsulates this allegiance: "Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One. And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength." This call to love and serve God wholeheartedly is a central tenet of the faith.

The concept of allegiance is further explored in the New Testament, where believers are called to prioritize their loyalty to Christ above all else. In Matthew 6:24, Jesus teaches, "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.
