He reveals the deep and hidden things;

God disclosed Nebuchadnezzar’s forgotten dream and its meaning to Daniel when no Babylonian wise man could do so. The revelation established that wisdom over kingdoms, history, and the future belongs to the God of heaven. As He gave Joseph understanding before Pharaoh, God makes known what human skill cannot discover. The mystery of the king’s dream also unfolds God’s sovereign plan for successive earthly empires and His everlasting kingdom.

He knows what lies in darkness,

Nothing concealed from human sight is concealed from God. He sees the secret counsels of rulers, the workings of nations, and every hidden human heart. Darkness cannot shield evil, confusion, or danger from His knowledge; He rules over all that appears uncertain to mankind. Daniel’s deliverance from death and his ability to answer the king came from God’s complete awareness of what no one in Babylon could know.

and light dwells with Him.

God is the source of truth, holiness, and understanding. He brings light into darkness by revealing His purposes and directing His servants. The light that dwells with God finds its fullest revelation in Jesus Christ, the Light of the world, who makes known the Father and leads His people out of darkness into truth.
