Jesus reproves the Scribes and Pharisees |
for transgressing God's commandments through their own traditions; |
| 8 ὁ λαὸς οὗτος τοῖς χείλεσιν με τιμᾷ, |
| ἡ δὲ καρδία αὐτῶν πόρρω ἀπέχει ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ· |
| 9 μάτην δὲ σέβονται με |
| διδάσκοντες διδασκαλίας ἐντάλματα ἀνθρώπων. |
teaches how that which goes into the mouth does not defile a man. |
He heals the daughter of the woman of Canaan, |
and other great multitudes; |
and with seven loaves and a few small fish feeds four thousand men |
