1And I saw in the right hand of Him Who sat on the throne a scroll written on both front and back, and sealed with seven seals. 2And I saw a mighty angel calling with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?” 3But no one in heaven, on earth, or under the earth, was able to open the scroll, nor to read it. 4And I wept bitterly because no one was found worthy to open, look inside or read the scroll. 5Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not Weep! Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed; and is worthy and able to open the scroll, and its seven seals.” 6And I looked, and in the center of the throne and among the four living creatures and the elders, stood a Lamb as though It had been slaughtered. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which represent the seven Spirits of God that are sent out into all the earth. 7And He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him Who sat upon the throne. 8And when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each of the elders had harps, and held golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. 9And they sang a new song, saying, “You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for You were slain, and with Your blood You have redeemed (purchased for) God, people out of every tribe, tongue (language), people, and nation; 10And You have made of them a kingdom of priests to serve our God, and they shall reign on the earth.” (Ex.19:6). 11And I looked and heard the voice of many angels all around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of angels was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, (Dan.7:10) 12Saying with a loud voice, “Worthy is the Lamb, Who was slain, to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, glory, and blessing!” 13And then I heard every creature that is in heaven, on earth, under the earth, and those in the sea, saying, “Praise, blessing, honor, glory, and power be unto Him Who sits upon the throne, and unto the Lamb, forever and ever!” 14And the four living creatures said, “Amen!”. And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshipped. Reader-Friendly Bible: Purple Letter Edition © 2024 by Jim Musser. Used by Permission. All rights Reserved. Bible Hub |
